Tips On Puberty

Puberty is a transitional phase when a boy or girl develops into a sexually mature man or woman. During this phase, the body goes through a whole lot of changes. Also, the teenager experiences changes in his or her emotional state. Puberty can begin anywhere from 9 years to 16 years. Usually girls enter puberty before boys. For both boys and girls, puberty is a difficult period that is why tips on puberty can help.

Puberty starts with the pituitary gland in the brain releasing hormones that are a signal to the body to begin changes and mature. In boys, they will notice changes like increase in height and muscle mass, widening of shoulders, enlargement of the penis and testicles, growth of body and facial hair, increased sweating with odor, and the voice becomes deeper. All these changes can take place suddenly or over several years.

In girls, puberty begins with development of breasts, and the hips and waist become curvier. In addition, body hair begins to grow. The vagina starts emitting a white or yellow color discharge. Also, menstruation begins. In the initial few years, menstruation will be irregular, but then it settles down into a monthly cycle.

Both pubescent boys and girls will notice a change in their skin. They will perspire more and the perspiration will have an odor. This can be combated with deodorant and bathing everyday. Also, the skin will become oily, particular the facial skin and if proper care is not taken, it could lead to acne.

During puberty all the changes in the body make a boy or girl sexually mature. Once they enter puberty, they are capable of having sex and having children. During this phase, boys and girls can become sexually aroused and there is nothing to feel ashamed about this. It is perfectly normal for pubescent boys and girls to have sexual feelings. However, they should not let anyone coerce them into having sex. It is very important for teenage boys and girls to realize that unprotect sex can make a girl pregnant or it could lead to sexually transmitted diseases.
