People joining military are absolutely carefree and do not care about the consequences of consuming too much alcohol. This leads to many devastating accidents and deaths in these military dorms. In addition, drinking is considered a culture in military. If a soldier or officer does not drink, others think he is abnormal or there is something wrong with him. And military is all about being a part of a team. Therefore, soldiers are forced into situations where they cannot refuse alcohol, and this may ultimately lead to alcohol abuse in military dorms.
Military dorms often are a source of alcohol to underage soldiers who join the military. These youngsters are blissfully unaware of the consequences of excessive consumption. This free availability of alcohol can lead to accidents, deaths and even alcohol abuse. Many of these youngsters end up hospitalized for alcohol overdose and some can even get alcohol poisoning, which can be fatal if not treated immediately.
Even though military bases continuously run awareness programs and checks, alcohol abuse is prevalent in military dorms.
