Education Purpose
Children go to schools for receiving education. But those innocent minds are not even aware of what the purpose of education is. Education is a means of turning an innocent mind into a knowledgeable individual. The aim of education is to provide knowledge, social behavior and good manners thereby instilling the moral values and principles which can help in transforming a child into a well developed individual. Although technically speaking, education comprises of three phases, namely primary, secondary and higher schooling. But, the process of learning never ends. |
Often no one is aware of the purpose and value of education when receiving it. It is only as we grow that we realize the importance of it. It is experience that makes us understand the necessity of education. All that we achieve through education is applied in day to day life in one way or the other. This application of education in both personal and professional lives makes one understand why education becomes so important in life.
Education teaches a person to read and write. The reading and writing skills no doubt accompany for the whole of life. It is through this reading and writing that people learn many things. But education is not something that helps people just learn to read and write. Instead education is a powerful tool that changes the person entirely.
Education does not just create an educated individual, instead creates a civilized society.
It is only through proper education that moral as well as ethical values can be instilled into young minds so that the principles and philosophy of life is better understood. A clever and responsible society is a result of proper education to the people.
One of the major reasons of education is to earn a livelihood. Education helps people develop skills in various fields. The better the education, the better is the job. This helps them achieve good jobs with a higher pay. Education is necessary for a good income which can make a person lead a satisfied life wherein most of the necessities of life are being fulfilled. This is helpful in the country’s well being. People working in various organizations utilize their skills to make the organization grow and earn profits. The profits of organizations, in turn, contribute to the development of the country. Education also helps in reducing unemployment and hence is an important tool for eradication of unemployment.
Education is a key to social development of the nation. Children attend schools where they are taught in groups. This helps in developing interpersonal skills. Education teaches an individual to interact and mingle with all kinds of people irrespective of differences in culture or class. This instills in an individual a feeling of social well being. The individual is a part of society and hence, the development of that individual ultimately plays a major role in the development of the society.
Thought process, which is very essential for every human being is cultivated through education. It is education which teaches a person to think creatively and also instills in person a willingness to learn. Education raises a number of questions about different things in mind thereby making the person think and work to get answers to those questions. In the way of finding answers, the person attains a lot of knowledge. Education thus builds enthusiasm and curiosity in individuals in learning various skills. Education does not produce learned individuals instead produces ‘learning individuals’ who are willing to learn throughout the life.
Education also forms a strong base for building career. It is through education that people are able to set high goals and standards for their life and work accordingly to achieve those goals. It is education which creates good teachers who in turn create well educated individuals. Education produces very good human resources who excel in various fields.
Education favors the growth of career which, in turn, is necessary for personal satisfaction in life.
It is the educated people who often encourage education and help the family or children get educated. Hence one educated person in a family can turn the whole family into an educated family. Education not only makes an impact on the career or professional life, instead makes a great impact on the person’s emotions, behavior, social life etc. It changes the person as the whole and creates a healthy approach in life.
