Why Is A High School Education Important ?
During the years of schooling, most children get frustrated with the immense hard work, regular studying and meeting deadlines for submission of assignments, all part of the curriculum. However, at this stage in life students cannot fathom the importance of education. High school education is extremely vital in shaping a child’s future years by providing a substantial source of income. |
A study conducted by Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children in the year 2008 highlighted that the probability of living a life of poverty is two times higher in children who drop out from high school than those who attend one. With the advancement in technology, manual labor jobs are fast declining. Most of the job profiles require educated candidates. It is reported that sixty percent of jobs in the US can be only applied for if one has procured training or education beyond high school.
With the rise in economy, most of the jobs require high levels of knowledge which only a college degree can fulfill. A high school diploma or an equivalent (GED) is a requisite for enrolling into a college. The better the educational qualification, the brighter are the chances of attaining jobs with higher income. Finally, it is one’s source of income that defines our standard of living, which includes one’s potential to purchase a house, car and many other facilities. Education forms the first step in the ladder to success.
In today’s techno savvy world, education is the only tool that will take you forward in life. So, remember that the amount you toil in high school will reap results in the coming years because knowledge never goes waste.
