Developmental Milestones For Preschool

Developmental-Milestones-For-Preschool      Each day of the child’s life brings in transition in terms of physical growth, movement, use of senses, talking, playing and general interaction. Developmental milestones are benchmarks provided by counselors to assess whether a child is progressing at the regular pace or not. Although the involvement of parents or teachers definitely promotes developmental milestones, it is cardinal to understand that each child progresses at his or her own rate, which should not be compared with any other child. Winter Activities For Preschool

Outdoor activities are a complete no-no during the winter months. The extreme cold weather makes it difficult for children to step out. However, there are several activities that can help in engaging children productively. Solving puzzles is a perfect activity for this time of the year. With a little effort one can make a puzzle at home or in school.

Cut out pictures depicting winter clothing and other accessories from books or magazines. Get these pictures laminated. Now plot out the pieces of the puzzle on each of the laminated pictures and cut them. Now keep the pieces of each puzzle together in a zip-loc bag and let each child solve one puzzle.

Decorating the bulletin boards with their own creative work is an excellent way of learning for preschoolers. For making a winter bulletin board, one will require construction paper, markers, glue, cotton balls, white paint, and blue poster board.

Depending upon the potential of the children, they can either make their own snowman with construction paper, or simply color its template. The bottom of the board can be colored white to create the effect of snow. The children can be involved in pasting cotton balls on the blue poster board background, and finally pin up their own snowman.

The winter months definitely increase your appetite. Preparing snowman cupcakes and eating them will be relished by the children thoroughly. The ingredients required include cake mix and vanilla frosting. Following the instructions of the recipe, cook mini and normal cup cakes in their respective pans. Once the cup cakes cool down, the preschoolers can put the frosting all over them. The snowman can be thus prepared using the mini cupcake for the head and the normal sized cupcake for its body. The recipe can be made further scrumptious by making use of regular licorice to make the snowman's scarf, 2 pieces of chocolate licorice to make the arms, M&Ms to make the eyes and buttons, and candy corn to make the nose. The children will hardly be able to wait to get a bite of this lip smacking treat!
