Loss Of Family Values
As the years are passing by, family values are dramatically falling or diminishing. The problems with the children these days are more complicated than with the children a few decades ago. |
In the past, people lived in joint families, and they were guided by the elders of the family. The expenditure was nominal and people were secure in all aspects. A couple, who got married, would be given a separate room to start their new life together. However, this was at the expensive of the previously 'newly married' couple. This is where the problem began. A young couple would feel that they did not have independence or privacy living in a set up like this. So, they decided to move out of a joint family setting and form their own nuclear family.
Also, in joint families, the members of 2 generations were able to solve problems without involving outsiders. Even when the expenditure increased and the income was not sufficient, they still got along with 2 meals a day. The way of living of both the generations was totally different.
As time passed, people were given more independence and this led to nuclear families and financial freedom. Today, every person lives the way he wants to live.
The modern-day couples are constantly striving to earn more and have better material things in life. Even when both partners are working and getting more than enough, they are not happy and want more. They are missing the simple pleasures and moments shared among family members, which inculcates a feeling of belongingness. Also, as both parents are busy working, they are unable to spend quality time with their kids. They are unable to teach simple family values to their children. This, in turn, has led to loss of family values.
The basic elements in life like love, modesty and understanding others are rarely seen in today’s generation.
