Example Of Business Ethics
Business and workplace ethics are extremely essential for human beings in order to work and conduct their business successfully. Almost all working people are familiar with the term called workplace ethics. Different people have different ideas of business ethics. Most of them follow what their business follows. |
Ethics and morals are nothing but guidelines that help you make a choice which may give you a good feeling or bad feeling. Sometimes, people may not follow the morals and ethics happily, but they still do it because it is the right thing to do.
In a business environment, integrity is valued as the highest moral and ethical principle. Businesses are lucky if they have all the employees following it. For instance, if the company is facing some business issues and employees were required to cooperate with the company for making some changes, and if all employees cooperate and help, the company will get through the bad times. This is what integrity means.
Compliance is also another such business ethic. Not letting out company or business secrets is being compliant with the business values.
There have been several classic examples of businesses that were ethical, while other were not. Companies like General Electric and Microsoft are known for their high values and business ethics. Now compare them to a company that does not have business ethics. These businesses will flourish for a short duration, but then fall flat on their faces. No matter how hard a company tries, its lack of business ethics will come out. And, when this happens, the company will lose its reputation and thus its client base.
However, business ethics and morals in a company should reflect from the top most executive to the lower most, including the guard at the parking lot.
