There is a lack of communication, trust and an intimate bond between the parent and child. Hence, this kind of parenting hampers cognitive development quite significantly.
In the case of permissive or neglectful parenting, the potential of the child is hardly tapped. These act negatively on the growth of the child as the competitive spirit, focus and concentration skills are hardly developed.
Authoritative parenting is ideal for the child’s overall development. Parents set realistic expectations on the child and are involved in the day-to-day activities. They are well aware about the child’s potential and interest. Though discipline is enforced, the child grows in a positively reinforcing environment where independence and decision-making skills are nurtured well with parental support.
