Importance Of Effective Communication Skills
An excellent and invaluable idea is not worth having unless it can be shared with the world or with the people who would appreciate or help for it. It is thus, quite important that one realizes and knows the way for effective communication. |
Like all the other things that one learns, effective communication can be developed and mastered with time and practice.
Organizing the thoughts within your mind first before letting it out to the world -- An idea generally calls for many similar ideas. However, it would be the best to share an idea that is simple and that can be organized in a way for others’ convenience so that they intuitively grasp the bigger picture and remember with a particular pattern. The best example would be to writing down directions to a particular place down to the smallest detail and tearing them into separate information without numbering them. Now, even as you have all the pieces of paper with the information, one would find it difficult to piece in that information to get accurate details. It is because it is not organized and it lacks any kind of pattern.
Communication should be collaborative and not competitive -- Pushing an idea without listening or against the interest of the person across spoils the integrity and the beauty of a conversation. Communication is ideally a two-way process that involves exchanging of ideas. If it is tried to make into a one-way, this exchange of ideas is prevented and might turn into a frustration for the person across and for the one with the idea since the person across might not respond or show any interest in his ideas in the absence of any exchange of ideas.
