When compared, it is seen that a person who inhales second hand smoke is at a higher risk of contracting lung cancer than the smoker himself.
Of course, if you are a smoker, you should not only know about the damage you are causing to your body but also to others around you. Although it is not necessary that all smokers will get lung cancer, emphysema, cardiovascular disease or any other health problems, the percent of smokers contracting various smoking-related diseases are very high. So also the general population if introduced to constant passive smoking.
So, whether you are a smoker or a non-smoker, you can be sure that cigarette smoke will affect you adversely if you are exposed to it. That is why so many legislations and laws are being passed in different countries banning smoking in public places like airports, pubs, theaters, bars, restaurants etc.
